DCAF has officially joined the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland and Liechtenstein

Engaging with the UN Global Compact since 2012, DCAF is thrilled to be a member of the formal network that supports, promotes, and implements the Compact’s Ten Principles.

Looking forward, DCAF will focus on:

  • Influencing Swiss and Swiss-based companies to implement more effective policies and processes on responsible security management and human rights in complex environments, including through DCAF’s strategic partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
  • Promoting conflict sensitivity and conflict prevention by clarifying how companies can practically address security in heightened human rights due diligence efforts.
  • Supporting companies in navigating regulatory rules and directives such as the European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and its eventual security/human rights/conflict prevention requirements.
  • Translating international good practices like the Voluntary Principles into action on the ground, through multi-stakeholder working groups with governments, civil society, and companies active in fragile contexts.
